National Clean Energy Week 2020

National Clean Energy Week is from September 21-25, 2020 and is provided as an awareness week to highlight how valuable clean energy is to America.

“The event celebrates the latest in clean energy policy, research and development, and technological innovation and generates new opportunities for innovators, investors, academics, business leaders, advocates, and policy makers to collaborate. Our country is working to rebuild from the devastating effects of a global pandemic while still fighting to keep Americans safe. The clean energy sector can be relied upon to create jobs, maintain energy independence, advance our national energy security, and help the economy rebound from recovery to growth. By harnessing the power of the free market paired with public policy rooted in common sense, clean energy can deliver this while preserving our environment for future generations.”

Of all the different types of clean energy out there, we of course are going to talk about propane! When you actively choose to use propane, you are playing your part by helping to reduce greenhouse gases and emissions.

Our S2G Freightliner is fueled by Agility Fuel Solutions. We now have eight of our vehicles running on propane autogas and within the next three years we will convert the other half to propane autogas. Here at Ted Johnson Propane we’re very happy with our autogas and if you would like to know more about autogas, you can take a look at our page!

Here are some facts about propane and the environment:

  • With more than 90 percent of propane produced right here in the United States, propane allows for our country to lessen its dependence on foreign oil.

  • Using propane appliances in your home can help reduce your carbon footprint compared to other energy sources

  • “Near zero” ultra-low NOx propane autogas engines are certified to the optional ultra-low NOx CARB .02 standard, operating 90 percent cleaner than the EPA’s strictest heavy-duty standard

  • Propane autogas has 15 percent less carbon intensity than an EV, according to CARB
