People Helping People

The City of Arcadia recently set up showers and a laundry room for the homeless and those almost homeless at the Arcadia Par 3 Golf Course. Every Thursday, it will be open for 7-10 hours with the ability of taking showers and doing laundry. They will have two social workers on site and a fire medic to administer first aid. It will serve as a place for those who are still living in housing but are unable to pay for things such as their water bill or mortgage. The site has eight showers and six sets of washer and dryers. This project will be running for about six months.

In addition to the showers and laundry service, there will also be provision of food, hygiene kits, and clothing. Our team at Ted Johnson Propane is providing them with propane so that their showers and laundry machines both have heat. With partnerships with Foothill Unity Center for food and Goodwill for the donation of clothes, the community is coming together to take care of those in need of basic services.
