Dock Worker
Reports To: Operations Manager
FLSA Status: Full-time, Non-Exempt
Summary
The candidate will refuel walk-in customers’ tanks, repair propane tanks, and maintain the yard and parts inventory.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to:
- Refuel tanks from walk-in customers
- Inspect and repair propane tanks
- Inspect and report any defects or leaks in the tank farm and the dispensing tank
- Responsible for plant security and documentation reporting
- Check in and put away inventoried parts
- Perform monthly inventory
- Prepare rental tanks, including but not limited to: 8-gallon, 25-gallon, 50-gallon, and 100-gallon
- Clean the warehouse bathroom
- Keep the warehouse and parts cage clean and orderly
- Opening and closing yard tasks
- Yard maintenance
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, the individual must show aptitude in the following
areas:
- High School Diploma/GED and related experience and/or training
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Write routine reports and correspondence
- Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in everyday situations
- Valid California class C driver’s license and excellent driving record
- Speak fluent Spanish, preferred
- Communicate clearly and effectively to convey information to customers and co-workers
- Willingness to take direction from the Service Manager
- Detail oriented
- Ability to work independently

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions and flammable gas and occasionally exposed to propane vapors. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
